My summer experience
This past summer, I was honored to receive a summer fellowship and had the opportunity to intern with the Metropolitan Opera. I was able to learn from and network with theater administrators, fundraisers, and performers alike. It was a great way to experience the arts administration profession and solidified my plans to pursue a master's degree after graduation.
My future plans
I’ll be attending the University of Virginia School of Art after graduation, where I’ll focus on non-profit and arts administration in fast-paced environments. I know a non-profit and arts career is going to be demanding, but I want my time to matter.
To the donors supporting this scholarship
I’ve been surprised by how much I’ve changed and grown as a person during my four years. Coming in as a first-year student, I had a lot of preconceived ideas about what college and campus life would be like. Looking back, I realize that I was nervous about leaving my friends and going to school in an environment that was completely different for me. I thought I would struggle to make new friends and find my community here, but that wasn’t the case at all. I joined the Student Curatorial Board and FBLA, and I found that the friendships and connections I made through those groups were some of the most valuable aspects of my college experience.
