A Message from Wendy Sternberg, Provost

Dear Tom,

In just a few months as Bucknell’s provost, I have quickly come to appreciate the deep dedication and passion of the University’s faithful donors. Your generosity provides our faculty with the resources they need to deliver the exceptional academics for which Bucknell is renowned.

I am so grateful to be part of this community and for your support, which is critically important for Bucknell’s future. As I guide the University’s academic programs, my foremost goal is to ensure their continued success. Endowed funding – like that which we receive from the Douglas K. Candland Fund for Civic Action and Douglas K. Candland Undergraduate Research Fund — helps make that possible.

Bucknell’s robust liberal arts curriculum prepares students for lives of meaning and purpose, and it is an honor for me to help usher in the University’s next chapter. As provost, I am committed to supporting interdisciplinary teaching and learning through a process-oriented, data-informed and equity-driven approach. The investment and partnership of our loyal donors will be crucial to these efforts, which benefit every Bucknell student.
